Do We Know?

Do We Know

They were children, I saw them buried underrneath that rubble.
Civilian bodies piled high, our tax dollars make it possible.
And then they callin' it a smart bomb,
but how smart is it to kill the whole family of a suspected terrorist,
leaving them nothing to live for, and so much to die for
and we wonder why they hate us and strap a bomb to their chest,
and try to kill us, not cuz we're free or we're rich
but because we keep treating the world like our.....
I think you know what I'm saying.

Chorus:
Whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa, do you know where your tax dollars go?
Whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa, do you really know when you cast your vote?
Whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa, do you know where your food is grown?
Whoa, oh whoa, oh whoa.

This violence against the indigineous,
happens under democrats and under republicans.
Just because the land that their living in,
has some kind of resource we want for Americans.
Even the food that we eat,
we have so much we can throw half away.
And in the very places it's grown,
there's people starving most every day.
And if your family was hungry, and the food that you grow
went to another country, and the weapons they sold,
went to the hands of your enemy,
who treated you so...
talkin' bout people being skun alive.
Still I don't believe in violence,
but in this time I cannot stand for pacifism. No, no, no.
I beleive in Non-violent resistance and spiritual activism.
For the information is out there, although somewhat buried.
Cuz you won't find it in the news.
It's been long since edited from the history books.
You'll just have to let Spirit guide you to the Truth,
to know what's really happening here.

Chorus

What made 911 different is that most of those people were white.
Cuz when you've got a brown skinned family gettin' blown up daily,
you don't see it on the news at night.
What made 911 different is that it happened in America.
Where we're all neck deep in propaganda. Whoa, oh whoa.
So even if you know right from wrong,
it doesn't matter if you don't know what's going on.
But I can be a Patriot and still speak the Truth.
I can love my country and still stand up to it.
When it's out of line, out of touch,
when it's policies are consistantly unjust.
When most the people are sleeping or out to lunch.
Don't know if I can take much, much, much more of this.
Still I don't believe in violence,
but in this time I cannot stand for pacifism. No, no, no.
I beleive in Non-violent resistance and spiritual activism.
For the information is out there, although somewhat buried.
Cuz you won't find it in the news.
It's been long since edited from your history books.
You'll just have to let Spirit guide you to the Truth,
to know what's really happening here.

Chorus

I had a dear friend and he fought in Iraq, and he said he would go back
in a second if it wasn't for his daughter, for he is a loving father and a loving friend willing to die for what he believes in.
But it makes me wonder how someone with such good intention,
could leave his family and pick up a weapon,
to go to another country, fight some supposed enemy,
for some mixed up democracy.
It's misguided love, but love all the same.
Guided right it could be a powerful force for change.
And when I put down the blame,
I realize the things we want are mostly the same.
So I seek information and Truth, for now is the hour.
I mix it up with word, sound, and power.
Love shall override what hate has empowered.
Sweetness come in where the taste has been sour for too long.
But I see peace on the horizon,
it all begins with asking the right questions.

Chorus

Talkin' about Revolution.
Talkin' about a Spiritual Evolution.
Talkin' about spreadin' some real information.
