but we'll leave it on "A"

Chrisopher Columbus had ship logs, I took a look inside
now I wonder why we celebrate a holiday for a man who commited genocide
I read about the Mexican war how it started and how things went
now I never ever ever call someone else, an illegal imigrant
and in the struggle for African American rights, some think we've won
but the jails and the ghettos tell a different story so i can see we are not done
what about world war II, Nazi Germany, at least then we were on the right side
but the IBM corporation created the systems for calculated genocide
and Vietnam, went on and on, in this war against a communist
you'd think we'd have learned after all those bombs that you cant crush a movement with violence
but it goes on like this, for so many years, upto Saddam Hussein
who we hung by the neck like a mad man for using the weapons that we gave him

some things just have to be said........

And I'd be doing none of us here a justice
if I didn't mention the connection
between the starving people of the world
and the over flowing fridge of most Americans
but I'm gonna leave us on one last point
and on this point we shall dwell
We serve a Mighty God
and with Her all things are possible

so we'll leave it on "A" as we remember Amazing Grace
we'll leave it on "M" for the Majestic beauty of this place
and "E" for Everyone is sacred
"R" for repiration, restitution, reconciliation
"I" for individuals can make a difference
and "C" for Yes we Can, Yes we Can, Yes we can Lord
cause "A" anything is possible
